Respublica Polonia

An idea for an art instalation came to my head today in the seminar group. Most Polish people, and I'm talking at least 50% of population of the country would not see anything unusual about a setting of similar project, no matter what place it would be... a church, a governmential institution etc.

Poland is supposted to be 95% Catholic, thats why other religions are being pushed on the borders of being noticed in everyday life, institutions, goverment's offices etc.

Most gay, jewish, protestant people wouldnt want to be put in one place with all the marriages (in Poland only between a woman and a man), one religion and a family model. However, this image still would not cause controversy and be consider sacred. The idea is to pin down brass/plaster letters and an actual logo to a wall and produce it all very pristine to make people realise that whats important about democracy is tolerance and acceptance to all citizens, not slogans and ethic/catholic dogmas.

The most interesting part of this installation once executed would be the fact that most people wouldn't realise what the real message is. Knowing I'm gay they'd look deeper into the meaning and discover the hypocrisy of simmilar 'logos' in real life.
